Cape Talk’s Kieno Kammies speaks to the owner of a company that sells water in bulk.

On Monday, Kammies spoke to Environmental Law expert at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, Terry Winstanley about the legalities of selling water.

She said it all depends on where the water was sourced from – as water such as that from borehole is from a sourced not owned by anyone, and therefore could not be sold.

After being told he cannot make use of municipal water for his business, Meyer says he had to find other ways to survive.

I bought a truck, put a tank in it and found a water bottling company that was prepared to give me all the water that is thrown away when they give each bottle a spray of clean water before they fill it.
